For the second time in 3 days, Newell was requested
for the train vs. tractor-trailer at Rocky River Road
and Old Concord Road. Newell Rescue 1 arrived to find a
low boy trailer stuck on the tracks and run over by the
train. 2 trucks that were on the trailer were destroyed
by the impact. The trailer derailed the first
locomotive, resulting in a 3000 gallon diesel fuel
spill. HEPACO was on scene for several days cleaning up
the spill. Norfolk-Southern had the replace 400 ties and
repair the track as a result. n one was injured in the
accident.
