One very lucky person escaped injury when
his car left the highway in a thunderstorm. The car struck the bridge
guardrail going backwards. The force of the crash ripped the guardrail
from its posts and pulled 6x6 pilings out of the ground. The guardrail
went through the trunk, around the back seat and pushed out of the rear
passenger side door. The front seat remained intact, preventing injury to
the driver. He was trapped for a short period of time but did not sustain
life threatening injuries.
