Structure Fire - Odell School Road
An intentionally set fire caused significant damage to a racquetball court at Hickory Grove Baptist Church North. Stacks of plastic chairs stored in the room were set on fire. Fire damage was contained to the room. The auditorium and gym suffered smoke damage from the fire. The most difficult task was ventilation of the huge structure. Mallard Creek, Newell, and CFD Engine 31 and Ladder 31 responded to the scene. The Mecklenburg County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the fire. No one was injured.
