Texaco Crash & Fire

September 12, 2002
A Camaro traveling South on Old Concord Road swerved to miss another car that pulled out of Newell Baptist Church Road. The car sped through the Texaco parking lot striking a U-Haul truck occupied by several children. The car came to rest on the self-serve pumps. A fire started when the car knocked over two pumps. Members at the firehouse heard the crash and saw the flames and responded with Engine 1. A box alarm was requested from Charlotte. The fuel source was shut off from inside the station and the vehicle fire was extinguished. No one in either vehicle was injured.
