4 Alarm Church Fire

August 23, 2002
A 4th alarm fire in Charlotte required coverage from several county fire departments this afternoon. Heavy fire conditions along with high temperatures requires a 4th alarm to control a church fire on Lawyers Road. Newell engine 1 responded to the fire on the 4th alarm. Newell Engine 2 was called to cover CFD Station 34's still alarm. Several other Mecklenburg County Fire Departments moved up or covered areas in Charlotte for most of the afternoon. Newell assisted MEDIC at the scene with firefighter rehab.
