After serving the citizens of Northeast Mecklenburg County
for over 60 years, Newell Volunteer Fire Department and
Rescue will no longer provide fire, rescue or EMS services
starting at 0000 Hours on July 1, 2011. The fire department
will continue to operate as usual until that time.
The "sign-off" for everyone who wasn't there.

TO ALL DEPARTMENTS REQUESTING
ASSESTS:
The Board of Directors of the Newell
Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all
departments that requested assets of the Newell
Department. The Board has reviewed all requests and has
made the very difficult decisions on where the trucks
will go. The departments selected have been notified and
the details are currently being worked out to get the
trucks to these departments and back in service. Thank
you for your interest and best wishes to you as you
continue to serve the citizens of your community!
